Our Schools
We increase enrollment and attendance through building accessible schools not far from childrens’ homes. We upgrade physical facilities, replacing dark, broken down mud classrooms with new cement block structures with tile floors. No longer do schools have to take Friday afternoons off in order for students to spread dung on classroom floors to keep the dust down. At each school, we also build a library, administration block, science laboratories and latrines and menstrual health management facilities. We furnish all buildings with locally made desks and chairs, and we provide sports equipment and library books. The regional education department provides teachers and textbooks.
We are very proud of what we have accomplished since coming together as an organization in 2015. In that short time we have upgraded the entire physical facilities of 12 primary schools and built 4 new primary and 7 high schools. We are implementing our holistic approach in all the 23 schools, benefiting 32,500 children in 2023. Of the total students, 165 are learning in the special needs units in nine of our primary schools.
