On January 31, 2025, we conducted a Mom-to-Mom Group Facilitator Training at the Bureau of Education Hall, bringing together 35 dedicated participants to strengthen community-based health education. This initiative is designed to equip mothers with essential knowledge and skills to improve health and nutrition within their communities.
Key Focus Areas
During the training, facilitators engaged in discussions and hands-on activities covering:
WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene): Promoting clean water access, safe sanitation practices, and hygiene education.
Maternal & Child Health: Enhancing prenatal and postnatal care knowledge for healthier mothers and babies.
Nutrition: Encouraging proper nutrition, dietary diversity, and balanced meals for growing children.
Eye Health: Raising awareness about vision care and preventing eye diseases through early intervention.
Hands-On Learning: Cooking Demonstration
A live cooking demonstration provided a practical learning experience, allowing mothers to prepare nutritious complementary food for infants aged 6 months and older. By using correct measurements and proportions, participants gained confidence in creating balanced meals that support healthy growth and development.
Next Steps
Our commitment to improving community health doesn’t stop here. Moving forward, we aim to:
Train 200 more mothers to expand the reach of health education.
Increase awareness at the household and community levels to foster sustainable health practices.
Deliver materials for additional hands-on cooking demonstrations, ensuring continued learning and practical application.
