A holistic approach to education that improves overall quality of life in Ethiopia
The mission of Partners in Education Ethiopia is to improve the lives of disadvantaged people through quality, inclusive education. Partners follows a holistic approach to addressing the multiple barriers children and youth in poor communities face in accessing and succeeding in education. We recognize and build upon the strengths and resources of the communities we serve, with communities sharing an average of 60-80% of project costs.
We implement projects in partnership with target schools, local communities, education offices, academic institutions and other NGOs, and we continue follow up of programs for up to 5 years. We began operation in 2015 and to date have built, and applied our model in, 25 schools in the Amhara National Regional State (ANRS) of Ethiopia. In total there are presently over 32,500 students and 1,065 teachers in those schools.

partnerships
Most of our programs are implemented in partnership with NGOs and other not-for-profit organizations
projects & programs
The construction aspect of our model includes building new or replacement schools, providing furniture, books, and science and sport equipment. We also implement programs that provide teacher training, eye health awareness and treatment, greening and educational gardening, and in-school workshops on sanitation and hygiene. We have recently instituted programs that will bring electricity and interconnectivity to schools, as well as elearning resources.
